| We
welcome you to the West District of the Central
Texas Conference of the United
Methodist
Church. This district is one of five districts that make up
the Central
Texas Conference. We are located in the central part of Texas
serving
all or parts of Bosque, Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland,
Erath,
Hamilton, Mills, Palo Pinto, Runnels, Stephens Counties, and Young
Counties.
The District serves sixty-one congregations with over 12,000 United
Methodist

The
area is mostly rural with peanuts, pecans, dairy production, beef
cattle,
sheep, goats, wheat, sorghum, cotton, and hay being our major
agriculture
production. There are deer, dove, quail and turkey hunting. Oil, gas
and
light manufacturing are the primary industries of the
district.
We
serve the student needs of Tarleton
State University, Howard
Payne University,
Cisco
College and Ranger
College
with over nine thousand students, many of them Methodists.
