From the Director:

      This is the Event Calendar planned by Lay Speakers at the Mid-Cities Lay Speaker Calendar Planning Event on 06-29-2008 at Davis Memorial UMC in North Richland Hills. We had a small working group and completed all tasks on schedule. Thanks to all who had a part in this effort. 

 

      Our next Lay Speaker's Planning Calendar Event will be Sunday, 

10-12-2008 from 03:00-05:00PM at Smithfield UMC in North Richland Hills. Lynn Glasscock will host the event for Smithfield UMC. If you are a part of the District Lay Speakers Committee, you will need to be in attendance. Please mark your calendar now so that you can support this event.    

      Recent and substantive changes to our program include the following:

1/ Class size (all classes): Minimum of 6, maximum of 10/noe exceptions.      

2/ No class make-ups: For credit, Lay Speakers must attend 10 hours of a course/no exceptions.

Regarding courses and events, this Director's advice still stands from previous years: Every class will have a closing date. You will need to register with Carlos Baker or designate by phone before that date. We do not guarantee you a place in the class, unless you are one of the first ten to register.        

The Lay Speaker will receive his course 

materials at the time and site designated. 

The Lay Speaker will pay the Course fees at the 

first meeting of the Course 

By the course deadline, if we do not have at least six students signed up for the class, we will cancel the class and decide when and if to reschedule that class.
