West District UMW Tasting Diversity and Haiti Study to be held at Stephenville FUMC on February 4, 2012: We will begin at 9:00 for our Tasting Diversity in which we ask children and adults to participate in preparing multi-cultural food and enjoying international stories and games. We will share the food for our meal at lunch then gather in the afternoon for a Haiti study led by Rev. Laraine Waughtal who has led mission trips to Haiti. You're Invited to a Pampered Chef Fund Raiser Show at Eastland FUMC: Everyone is invited to attend a Pampered Chef Fund Raiser Show on Thursday, January 26 at 7:00 pm in the Eastland FUMC Fellowship Hall. Part-Time Choral Director: First UMC Mineral Wells is seeking a part-time choir director. Responsibilities include leading weekly choir rehearsals on Wednesday evenings and directing the choir and the congregation on Sundays at the 10:50 a.m. worship service. The position also includes times of extra rehearsals during the Advent/Christmas season and Lent/Holy Week/Easter. This person must be willing to work with the Pastor and participate as a member of the Worship Committee in coordinating the music for weekly worship. Please send resumes to Rev. West District Leadership 2011-2012 Selected The names of the West District Leadership is available by clicking HERE. We Are Now the West District! As of Wednesday, June 1, we are officially the West District of the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and we have changed the former Brownwood District website to reflect that change. The District Office has moved to Stephenville and the phone numbers and malting address have changed. Our Facebook page has changed to reflect the new district name. We have a list of all the churches in the new West District, as well as a map of the West District. Go below for that information. Kevin Morton, pastor of Cross Plains UMC, is serving as webmaster of the West District as of June 17, 2011. He replaces Frank Hilton who has retired as of June 15th. We welcome him as our new webmaster for our new district. Prayers for Military Service Personnel We are currently in the process of updating our Prayers for Military Personnel page. Please send the information on your military service personnel to the District Office so we can update this information. We have set up a special "Prayers for Military
Personnel" page on
our web site to list military service personnel that you would like be
included on prayer lists of churches in the West District and on
personal
prayer lists. Lists of any military service personnel from
the family
of your church are to be sent to the District Office so that they may
be
included in this page. Please include name of person, town
they are
from, and who the person they are most related to. The
